Happy Place
Warm weather means the BeerdedBeerMan starts his weekly trek to his happy place. Nestled in a peaceful area
between Greensboro and Reidsville, North Carolina, sits a quaint little cabin in a "gated community," but it's not
your average community. The Mrs and I are naturists - before you search that word - we're nudists. GASP! Come
on, you've been skinny dipping, walked around the house naked, or at least thought about it. Twenty years ago,
I discovered this gem. The Mrs calls it a summer camp for adults. Of course, it took me almost two years to
convince her to even try it; now she loves it! There are folks from all walks of life there; doctors, lawyers, nurses,
teachers, truck drivers and even computer geeks. And no, it's not like what you think - no hanky panky. Just a great
group of people who enjoy hanging out (pun intended) by the pool, listening to music, playing fun games like water
volley ball and corn hole; eating all day and of course, drinking beer.
I know that being a nudist isn't for everyone and that's okay. But don't knock it until you try it. You don't know what
you're missing. Imagine lazing around by the pool all day, soaking up some rays, and experiencing genuine
conversation with some truly interesting people. Something wonderful happens when you are "stripped" of society's
pretenses and everyone is on the same level. Now for a shameless plug for our happy place...if you're interested in

Not into baring it all? Well there are even more adventures you can take around the region. Consider taking a ride to
the Greensboro area and check out the great shops, restaurants and fun vibe it has to offer. You won't be disappointed.
Greensboro is a quick ride on US220. Greensboro is part of the Piedmont Triad that includes Winston-Salem and
High Point. It's big enough to have a little bit of everything, but small enough to still feel like a home town. Local beer
guides list about seven breweries in Greensboro alone, and almost twenty in the surrounding area. Natty Greene's,
Gibb's Hundred and Pig Pounder to name a few. The Mrs and I were lucky enough to try some really great beers from
the local breweries. Every summer we spend a week at our happy place and venture into Greensboro to visit the local
breweries, restaurants and do a little shopping.
Are you up for a road trip to the Greensboro area? Do you want to try something new? Your curiosity is piqued. Plan a
day trip or quick weekend get-away to the Greensboro area and all it has to offer. Take a walk around downtown; visit
the local breweries, restaurants and shops. Whether you live life fully clothed or totally naked, get out and live life.

Natty Greene's - Buckshot Amber Ale
Malty, caramel nose, that's a little earthy. Crisp and clean taste that is smooth on the tongue. Rich amber color. If you're
into amber ales, you might want to give this one a try.
Natty Greene's - Southern Session IPA
With an earthy, "green" nose that translates into the same on your taste buds, and a nice malt backbone. There is a
pleasant balance of hops and malts. Southern Session IPA is mild throughout which makes it an easy drinking beer.
Gibb's Hundred - Monkey Sphere IPA
The nose is a combination of citrus, pine and a little tropical fruit. There's a slight bitterness from start to finish. And it
leaves a smooth, silky mouthfeel. Definitely worth more than one.
Gibb's Hundred - Blind Man's Holiday Hoppy Pale Ale
This hoppy pale ale has a slight malt and grassy nose. There is an earthy, grassy nose that presents itself the tongue,
with a little bitter on the backside.
Foothills - Jade IPA
This IPA presents a strong resin nose, almost "dank." The resin continues onto the tongue. This is a "green" beer from
start to finish.
Foothills - Hoppyum IPA
There's a nice earthy nose on this IPA with hints of tropical fruit. The mild bitterness of this beer gives way to earthy and
tropical fruits on your tongue.
